Boudoir Noir – the paris apartment (2024)

hi guys, glad you stopped by! i’ve been working all day making tiny accomplishments that will hopefully add up to big ones soon. it’s been a struggle to keep the discipline up but i’m determined to change my life.

they say if you keep repeating what you’ve been doing, you’ll get the same things you’ve always gotten. so in an effort to change that i’ve been trying to focus, be more productive and do the things i say i will. you may remember the ‘boudoir noir’ collection i was working on about a year ago. truth is i have so many irons in the fire that some of them just get left to fizzle out and sadly this was one of them. now i’ve got to scramble to revive it and do some serious damage control.

it started out with such promise, the inspiration photo, the beautiful sketches my friend mike drew, even the prototype from the factory! we were so close. and then it was my turn. we needed fabric and i dropped the ball.

when i didn’t send fabric in time, they went ahead and chose something without me. my heartbreak paralyzed me from moving forward and i guess i lost interest in the project. this debacle below was one of four that were done in a ‘contemporary’ (am i being too kind)? pattern. it wasn’t till the other day when i got my mojo back and asked about the pieces that i found out they’d been sent to a consignment store!

eeeeeekkkk!!! thank god my web gal could create a virtual vector version for me!

now i’m scrambling to get back on track. this was more than a mistake, it was a true life lesson. now i just need to take that schooling and run with it. i’m so tired of learning the same things over and over and not having them stick. my new mantra is going to be ‘finish what you start!”

well that’s a wrap for today. good night friends, i hope you reach your goals and dreams!

hi everyone! it’s been a while and lots has been going happening. you know how it is when you work so much and nothing ever seems to happen? i am queen of starting projects and some have been on the drawing board for years. so it’s incredible to see something come to life. on one hand i want to write about all of it, but on the other hand i’m learning that multi-tasking is not for me, even in blogging. i try to include everything and end up not writing at all. now with the pressure off, i can enjoy it tonite.

(harlow chair)

these are top secret (except to you :)

they’re a couple of prototypes for my boudoir noir collection inspired by furniture from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. some of the other pieces we’re working on are here, and here. well, i thought you’d get a kick out of it, even in the early stages. if all goes well the collection will debut in paris at the maison et objet in (ugg), january 2010.

my friend mike did these divine sketches. to think they went from his mind to reality. i have a feeling he thought it wasn’t going to happen. i hope he’s surprised!

i’d love your opinion on how you’d upholster them (if you would even have them in your house. am i crazy)?

alors, c’est tout for ce soir. i have to put out a newsletter for some new news coming tomorrow so better do it while i have will power. (i’m fading just thinking about it). well i’m glad you stopped by and i’ll be putting all the vanities up that you sent in, danke! bonne nuit!

i admit falling off the earth for the past few days. between having 10 days left before relocating, the kitten and my guy, i haven’t had time for much else. leave it to another blogger to bring me back

to the lovely blogging arena, full of new, beautiful and inspiring pics, places and people! (and pets)

this time it was paris atelier. she did a divine post with pictures that hypmotized me! and to top that post off was a great big cherry cause she mentioned my trips to the fleas en Paris! check her out, i just had to share her delicious pics and shout ‘thank you’ from the rooftops!

a couple other things are going on, i’m determined to finish the boutique revamp (preview above, think i shared this before but i swear i’m making progress)

and we’re adding the final touches to the Boudoir Noir Line

making the final choices

there are so many beauties

these are only a few of the pieces.

there’ll be chaise lounges, mirrored beds,

loveseats and slipper chairs, vanity benches

and everything will be tufted and pink and silk! (sorry, i got carried away :)

ok, maybe not this one will have a limited market…well now back to work, hopefully i’ll accomplish a lot this week, i’m so motivated right now and want to take advantage of myself! ;p
