Company overview
Riyadh Cable Group Company and its subsidiaries are among the leading companies specializing in the production of cables, electrical wires, telecommunications cables and electrical transmitters of various kinds across the Middle East and the world. Riyadh Cable Group Company and its subsidiaries are also considered to be one of the most important cable providers used in infrastructure in the Kingdom, the GCC and the Republic of Iraq. The company and its subsidiaries conduct their activities in an integrated manner as a unit at both the level of manufacturing operations and at the level of administrative, marketing and other technical aspects. The Riyadh Cables Group Company in its capacity as an owner of subsidiaries provides administrative, commercial, financial and information technology services, operations and operation management, technical and quality management and other work in support of these companies'' work. The Group''s activities are divided into four main sections; (1) Manufacturing activities: The Group produces low voltage, medium, high and super voltage electrical cables and wires manufactured from copper or aluminum through Riyadh Cable Group Company, Saudi Modern Company for Metals and Cables and Plastic Industry, National Cables Industry, etc.; (2) Sales activities: Riyadh Cable Group Company, Saudi Modern Company for Metals and Cables and Plastic Industry, Saudi Modern Company for Special electric Wire and Cables Industry, Saudi Modern Company for Telephone Cable Industry Ltd., and National Cables Industry sell the Group''s products through multiple sales channels, which include direct sale of the Group''s contracting customers, as well as eighteen (18) sales and distribution centers of the Saudi Modern Company for Special electric Wire and Cables Industry in various cities within the Kingdom; (3) Electrical contracting projects: The Group undertakes electrical projects for High Voltage (HV) inside and outside the Kingdom through Riyadh Cables Group and Saudi Modern Company for Metals and Cables and Plastic Industry; (4) Maintenance activities: Saudi Modern Company for Cables Limited, engages in construction and maintenance of industrial buildings and production lines with the aid of a specialized team of engineers.
Company History
Riyadh Cables Group Company was incorporated in 1984, as a limited liability company named Saudi Modern Company for Cable Industry ltd With a share capital of seven million and five hundred thousand Saudi riyals (SAR 7,500,000). In 1985, the shareholders decided to increase the company''s share capital to twenty-nine million four hundred and twenty-five thousand Saudi riyals (SAR 29,425,000) Saudi riyals, and the increase in capital was covered by capitalization of the shareholders current account. In 1989, the shareholders decided to increase the company''s capital to seventy-two million Saudi riyals (SAR 72,000,000), and the capital increase was covered by capitalization of the shareholders current account. In 1990, the shareholders decided to increase the company''s capital to seventy-five million Saudi riyals (SAR 75,000,000), and the capital increase was covered by capitalizing the companies retained earnings. In 2014, the shareholders decided to convert the company from a limited liability company to a joint stock company. The Ministry of Commerce issued Decision No. 146/S declaring the company''s conversion to a joint stock company. In 2014 the extraordinary general assembly of the company decided to change the name of the company to Riyadh Cable Group Company.in addition to agreeing to increase its share capital to nine hundred million Saudi Riyals (SAR 900,000,000), the capital increase was covered by thirty seven million and five hundred thousand Saudi Riyals (SAR 37,500,000) by capitalization of the statuary reserve account, The remaining seven hundred and eighty seven million and five hundred thousand Saudi Riyals (SAR 787,500,000) were covered by the capitalization of the company''s retained earnings. In 2015, the company''s extraordinary general assembly decided to raise the share capital to one billion and five hundred million Saudi Riyals (SAR 1,500,000,000). Share Capital increase of five hundred and seventy-nine million, nine hundred sixty-six thousand and four hundred thirty-five Saudi Riyals (SAR 579,966,435) were covered by capitalization of the company''s retained earnings, and the remaining twenty million thirty three thousand and five hundred sixty-five Saudi Riyals (SAR 20,033,565) from the statuary reserve account. The company''s current share Capital is one billion and five hundred million Saudi riyals (SAR 1,500,000,000), divided into one hundred and fifty million (150,000,000) ordinary shares with a fully paid nominal value of ten Saudi Riyals (SAR 10) per share. The initial public offering process is the offering of thirty-three million (33,000,000) ordinary shares of the company''s shares.
