These elegant apricot appetizers are topped with goat cheese, walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. With only 4 ingredients they’re the simplest appetizers that make a big, tasty impression! Such perfect hors d’oeuvres for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, or any party that you want to add a little color to.
If I’m throwing a co*cktail or dinner party where I want to focus all of my attention on the dinner or a flamboyant crudités, I’ll make these cute little appetizers. I can make them in 5 minutes flat, and they delight everyone at the party!
I made these for my Christmas dinner party this year because I was making a pretty tricky roast, and wanted easy, elegant pre-dinner treats to accompany the gorgeous cheese plate my friend contributed.
I’ll also be making them for my New Year’s Eve party because they really do add such a delightful color to any appetizer table. Don’t you agree?
Ingredient Notes
Apricots – I used nice, dry Turkish apricots. The better the quality, the tastier they are.
Goat Cheese – You can substitute with cream cheese, ricotta, blue cheese or gorgonzola.
Walnuts – Use unsalted, raw walnuts. Get more than you think you’ll need. They look prettiest when the nuts are fully intact, and about half of your nuts will likely come broken. You can also use almonds if you like.
How to Make These Apricot Appetizers – Step by Step
1. Lay 20 apricots onto a serving plate.
2. Top each apricot with ½ teaspoon goat cheese.
3. Gently press walnuts into the cheese.
4. Lightly drizzle each one with honey. You can also sprinkle them with a little fresh thyme for garnish.
Common Questions
1. How far ahead can I make them before a party?
You can make these a whole 1-2 hours before the party. Assemble them, but wait to drizzle them with honey. Cover them with cellophane and refrigerate. Right before guests arrive, drizzle them with honey and serve.
2. What Can I serve these with?
A beautiful baked gruyere or crudités would be a lovely pairing, but I have so many pretty appetizers that would complement these beautifully for any occasion.

I made these for a Christmas party using gingerbread-flavored goat cheese and candied pecans, so left off the honey as there was already plenty of sweetness. Delicious!
