Fudgy Black Bean Brownies

INGREDIENTS
2- 15 oz cans black beans drained and rinsed
½ cup cocoa powder
½ cup Flour (may use gluten free flour)
½ cup apple sauce
½ cup maple syrup
3 tbsp vegan powdered egg replacer or tapioca flour (just the powder, do not make the “egg”)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup dairy free chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
1). Preheat the oven to 375.
2). Put all the ingredients except for the chocolate chips, into a food processor.
3). Process until nice and smooth, then move the batter to a bowl.
4). Mix in the chocolate chips and scrape batter into an 8×8 silicone pan (I use this one ).
5). Place in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
6). They will be fudgy, allow them to cool slightly before cutting and serving.

Valerie, I used flax egg – 1 tbsp flax meal and 3 tbsp h2o and it turned out great. Hope this helps.

Is it really 2 15oz cans of black beans im not sure where mine went wrong because it seems like everyone else’s came out good but mine tasted really bland and beany I even added extra chocolate chips .

Yes , they are KILLER! I put them in regular sized muffin cups for easier freeze, and when they came out of oven, I sprinkled a few chips on each one and put back in oven for 3 minutes…..And then I spread like frosting after the 3 minutes. Next time I am going to try mini muffin sized pan…….

These are dangerously good! It’s hard to find egg replacer in Australia so I used 1 mashed banana instead and they were AMAZING!!

Two fifteen ounce cans of black beans. Be sure to drain the beans in a colander, then rinse them with water.

These were good. Not too sweet and a satisfying chew to them. I used 2 silicone roll molds (each mold has 6 x 3″ circles) and they came out nice. It would be good to post the nutrition data, I like to compare it to the boxed brownies which I’m sure are more calories.
