This easy cornbread recipe is, obviously, really simple. But you’ll never believe just how easy it truly is. I’m no baker, as you guys might know, but these Cheesy Cornbread Drop Biscuits are easy even for my standards. You’ll look like the queen or king of your kitchen, you’ll wow your guests and make them happy and full, and all the while it can be your little secret how simple they really were. Cheese, garlic, and cornbread mix, what a FABULOUS flavor combination!

There is no fuss with this easy cornbread recipe; just cornbread mix, cheese, and garlic mixed together, dropped onto a baking sheet, and baked to perfection!

How to make Garlic Cheesy Cornbread Drop Biscuits:

  1. Combine shredded cheese, cornbread mix, and garlic powder in a bowl, then stir in milk.
  2. Take (heaping) tablespoon size portions and drop it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Brush each biscuits with melted butter, parsley, and sea salt.
  4. Bake 13-15 minutes at 400°F.

  • 3 cups cornbread mix premade/storebought
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese shredded
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • Sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Combine cornbread mix, cheese and garlic powder.

  • Add milk and stir just until incorporated.

  • Drop by heaping tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet.

  • Brush biscuits with melted butter, dried parsley and a scant sprinkling of salt.

  • Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.

  • Remove from oven. Serve immediately or transfer to cooling rack until ready to serve.
