1.To make the garlic pork chops: Combine paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Pat the pork chops dry with kitchen paper then season generously with the spice mix. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high until butter is melted.

2. Sear the pork chops for 3-5 minutes per side until well browned on both sides. Transfer the pork chops to a warm plate and set aside.

5. Placepork chops and their juices back into the sauceand allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked to your liking.Garnish with remaining fresh parsley and serve the garlic pork chops in creamy mushroom sauce immediately with cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, or pasta. How to cook pork chops recipe tips

  • Buy bone-in pork chops when you can:The bone has some fat around that keeps the meat tender and juicy, plus it helps prevent the pork chops from overcooking. On the other side, boneless pork chops tend to be drier and easier to overcook.
  • Take the pork chops out of your refrigerator about 15 minutes before you plan to start cooking. The meat will cook more evenly throughout when you bring it at room temperature.
  • Rest the meat after cooking pork chops: A quick rest period of five minutes allows the juices to flow back through the meat and make it more tender. You can cover the pork chops with a shallow plate or loosely tent with foil.

How to tell when pork is done?

Pork is done when an internal thermometer reads 145ºF (63ºC), per the recommendation of the USDA. Cooking time may vary depending on how thick the pork chops are. If the pork chops don’t have the same thickness, you can remove the thinner one first and let the others finish cooking.

What to serve with the pork chops?

This pork recipe goes well with pretty much anything: potatoes, pasta, or if you’re on a low carb diet, zucchini noodles, cauliflower rice, or other veggies.

How and how long to keep the pork chops leftovers?

You can keep the pork chops leftover for 2 days in the refrigerator, in an airtight container. Reheat gently in the microwave or covered in the oven for 5 minutes, adding a few drops of water to loosen the sauce.

It was flavorless until I made a few tweaks. First off, I added some low sodium roasted chicken Better Than Bouillon. Next, I also added a small amount of McCormick brown gravy powder mixed with a bit of chicken broth to thicken it up. Lastly, it because it was still pale in color and not aesthetically pleasing, I added a couple of pinches of paprika. THEN, it was DELICIOUS!

Second time I’ve made this. Delicious, so flavorful AND Keto. This will definitely be a reoccurring dish in our kitchen. 😋

It was not "creamy" rather more liquidy......added cornstarch and more cream; still there was something missing. Perhaps pounding pork loin to thinner than 1/4" i found the pork a bit tough. Not sure I'll make this again, but thanks.

  • Taise

    2024-01-08 08:20:34

Because I had to add something to enhance the taste is why I took one star off I found the sauce was missing something and just tasted like mushrooms and could not really taste the Italian seasoning and other flavors. Otherwise it’s worth anyone trying and adjusting or not adjusting to your taste.

i have never been able to get pork chops tender so knowing that i let them simmer for an 1 hour. they were “fall off the bone” fantastic! i did use a cup and a half more of chicken broth so i would get more gravy. forgot to get cream so i used milk with a little amount of flour. again, fantastic!

    2023-12-16 20:49:37

This was so yummy! I added some corn starch & let simmer a little longer& it didn’t get too thick. The large ad on the side is blocking 1/2 of what I need to read on iPad which sucked.

This was so tasty. I had to adjust a little since I didn't have mushrooms (substituted onion) or cream (used half and half) but it was wonderful. Will definitely make again with the mushrooms. The sauce is so tasty I think will try with chicken.

AMAZING. I’ve never taken the time to leave a review on a recipe. But this was amazing. My husband and I dislike pork chops, but we LOVE them in this recipe. I’ve made this 3 times, twice perfectly. Once where I couldn’t get the sauce to thicken, so I used a little cornstarch. Tastes perfect over mashed potatoes!

  • Taylor

    2023-09-06 20:10:56

The flavors were very good but the sauce did not thicken up how it looks in the photos. I wish I could tell you everyone was pleased but I was totally bummed because the flavor was there. Everything else was not. Way too watery.

This recipe was a hit with my family. It was delicious! My husband told me I can make it anytime. He recommends I make it next time when we have company over for dinner. This recipe has been added to my menu list. It’s not hard to make and I had most ingredients.

Made this for my parents on thanksgiving last year. It was a hit. Very good tasting recipe. We had mashed potatoes with it last year used the sauce as a gravy was good. This year we will pour the sauce over noodles and pork chop on the top. Would recommend this recipe to anybody

Amazing recipe. I was worried the sauce was not thickening at first, but after leaving to simmer for about 10 minutes it thickened up wonderfully. I will definitely make again!

  • Steve

    2022-06-07 14:38:30

Very tasty but the sauce would not thicken up at all. I did another 10 minutes after putting the pork chops back in and it was just watery. Ran all over my plate and into my side (which is not a bad thing!)

I used a bit more mushrooms, 1 cup of cream and omitted the butter. So good... I made mash and used 14g of butter in that. So it was carby. But very tasty. Will definitely make this again.

  • Gail

    2021-11-28 15:20:37

We aren’t big on pork but these are delicious and so quick and easy. I simmered a bit longer at the end for a thicker gravy. So good! Making it again for sure!

    2021-11-22 20:08:19

Tasted great! BUT, Good Grief! We could hardly find the one cup of mushrooms. Use the whole 8 oz. box of fresh mushrooms. Mushrooms have less than a gram of net carbs per ounce.

This Garlic Pork Chops in Creamy Mushroom Sauce is so delicious. Since I don't have the broth, I just used San-J Tamari Soy Sauce that I bought at Karman Foods as an alternative; still, perfect though!

This was sooo delicious! The flavors were excellent. Our chops were thick, so the cooking time was longer, and we also used some Wondra to thicken the sauce after we took the chops out right before serving. We will definitely make this again!

Amazing combo of flavours!! I was late starting this dish due to work... so I browned the thick chops and put them in the Instant pot. Cooked mushrooms and sauce in the frypan and added that to the pork chops. Pressure cooked it for 10 min. Sauce needed thickening, so I removed the meat, turned instant pot on sauté, added a bit of xanthum gum to thicken, and then put the chops back in. Very moist and tender and oh so yummy! My husband told me I could make that again! I used more garlic in the sauce then it called for...

  • Nessa C

    2021-01-14 23:51:33

Great yummy recipe! Used less broth and heavy cream cause I wanted my sauce to be thick but still drippy, I added some corn starch to thicken it cause there was still too much liquid! Still a great recipe, tweak as needed!

  • Jennifer

    2021-01-10 12:07:30

This did not work for us. 1.5 cups of cream is just too much. It did not thicken. The seasoning was great but the overall sauce was just too much and too runny. Used boneless pork chops and cooked to exact time stated (on the lesser side) and they were like shoe leather. Other than using some sauce on cauliflower rice, I had to throw the whole thing away.

  • Nicole

    2020-12-21 12:50:50

Love the seasoning! How could I make this recipe in a slow cooker?

  • Suzanne

    2020-12-02 18:29:54

Thanks for the recipe! I substituted 1/2 can of cream of chicken soup instead, since I don't like mushrooms, and I also added a little cajun seasoning for extra depth of flavor. NOTE: For super tender bone-in pork chops, brown then cover tightly and simmer for 40 minutes!! They will be falling-off-the bone tender. My mom and grandma always made them this way, I grew up eating the most tender pork chops, so I can't understand these "don't overcook!" warnings. I don't buy boneless, so I can't speak to that, but for bone-in tender chops, you will not even need a knife! Trust me! Falling. Off. The bone. 40-min. simmer, tightly covered! My 13-year old son just devoured TWO of them. Yummy recipe... thank you :)
