This Whole30 homemade ranch dressing is so easy to make at home. It’s a paleo, keto, dairy-free and gluten-free DIY condiment that is perfect for dipping, drizzling or adding to a number of recipes. It takes under 5 minutes to whip together so it’s a great addition to your meal prep to keep for the week ahead and is a healthy, budget-friendly alternative to store bought ranch.
I vividly remember the first time I walked through the grocery store, looked at ingredient labels and actually understood what I was reading. Sugar, insane additives and preservatives I couldn’t even pronounce was what I found in the products I used to buy without thinking. Store bought ranch was a big one that really surprised me with the junky ingredients. Now, I pretty much always have some homemade ranch in the fridge. Ranch that has ingredients I can pronounce.
When I started eating Paleo, not very long ago, there wasn’t any ranch available to purchase to my knowledge. Now, we’re lucky to be able to run to almost any store or hop online and order paleo and Whole30 ranch dressing options.
Making your own DIY Whole30 ranch is so incredibly easy, and very budget friendly, but if you’re wanting to pick up a pre-made option, Primal Kitchen is a great choice for a Whole30 Approved ranch. You can grab it from their website (code “PALEOBAILEY” saves you 15% off), from Amazon, or from Thrive Market (new members receive a $20 shopping credit!). Tessemae’s is another Whole30 Approved option.
These are obviously going to be the more expensive ways to do keep ranch a part of your life but thankfully it’s super easy to make homemade ranch dressing yourself. It’s only a few common pantry ingredients and spices after you’ve made the mayo base.

Or, you could also purchase mayo from Primal Kitchen, too. I buy a few jars of Primal Kitchen Mayo at a time just to have on hand for when I don’t want to make my own homemade mayo. Either way works just fine. You’ll just want to make sure when you’re making your own mayo that you use a light olive oil. You could also use avocado oil. A heavier oil will cause your mayo to not turn out the greatest.
If you’re making your own homemade mayo, I highly suggest using an immersion blender to simplify and quicken the process. A food processor works too, but I love that with an immersion blender, I only have 1 dish to wash, as opposed to all of the parts of the food processor.
Once you’ve got mayo handy, the homemade ranch dressing takes all of 3 minutes to whip up. If you have fresh dill on hand you could use that instead of dried dill, it gives it such a pop of fresh flavor.
How to Store Homemade Ranch Dressing
This ranch can be stored in the refrigerator for as long as the mayo is good for (or the egg in the mayo if it’s homemade mayo). If you’re uncomfortable with this, then using within 7 days is best. When storing the Whole30 ranch, you want to make sure it’s in an airtight container. I love using Weck jars, or mason jars with these lids, and find storing them in glass keeps the flavors fresh longest.

Love how it came out in combo with my homemade vegan Mayo. It was creamy and I’m glad I didn’t need to use any dairy!! Healthy ingredients and tastes great! Thank you!
I was wondering how long this will last in your refrigerator though.

Great flavor, but I did add-in whole milk plain greek yogurt for that buttermilk-y taste and some thickness. It was probably 2/3 C before I found a preferable consistency.
