Sweet and sticky honey garlic cauliflower wings are a delicious vegetarian appetizer. With a few simple ingredients, this recipe comes together in less than 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower: cut into about 2 inch florets. You can also buy the pre-chopped cauliflower to save on time.
  • Flour: sub for gluten-free flour
  • Almond milk: regular and other nut milks work as well
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • Honey
  • Soy sauce: sub with gluten-free tamari
  • Sesame oil
  • Garlic cloves, lots of garlic cloves!
  • Ginger
  • Water + cornstarch

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onion

How to make Honey Garlic Cauliflower Wings

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Important that the oven temperature is very hot.
  2. In a medium size bowl, whisk the flour, almond milk, garlic powder and salt together to make the batter. Dip each piece of cauliflower into the batter (let any excess batter dip off) then place on baking sheet (use 2 baking sheets if necessary). Place in oven for 22 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and ginger. In a bowl, mix together water and cornstarch then add to saucepan, whisking everything together. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally (sauce will start to thicken). Remove from heat. Sauce will thicken more after removing from heat.
  4. Once cauliflower is done, brush cauliflower pieces with honey garlic sauce. Place back in oven and broil for 2-3 minutes. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion. Serve right away.

tips to make this recipe

  • Cook the cauliflower bites at a high temperature (450°F) to ensure a nice texture (that is not soggy!).
  • This recipe is best enjoyed right away if you are serving it to guests. However, I personally will make this recipe for myself and it keeps okay in the fridge for 2 days. The texture is not as firm the following day but still tastes good!
  • Note that this recipe is vegetarian and not vegan as honey is not vegan.
