Dinner and show is one of those very Vegas entertainment affairs with deep roots in the city starting in the 1950s. Big names such as Elvis Presley, Liberace, Don Rickles, and Shecky Greene performed hour-long shows while eating and drinking, sometimes for as little as $5. Now those serenades and comedy shows return with a new twist — over-the-top productions paired with decadent dining.

The latest restaurant to bring just that opened at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Spiegelworld — the production company behind Absinthe, Atomic Saloon Show, and Opium — debuted Superfrico, a sidekick to Opium, with a meld of dining on what it calls “Italian American psychedelic” fare and entertainment. The restaurant becomes another outlet for the crazy capers of Opium next door that spill into the dining experience. Performers come and go from their dressing rooms to the Opium Theatre through Superfrico’s kitchen and dining rooms. The entire space features a roster of themed bars, lounges, and dining rooms waiting to be explored. And every night is different, whether patrons go to the show or not.

Over at the Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio, diners can head over for Mayfair After Dark with 11 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturdays that blend live musical acts and performances with food (think and bottle service. Think of it as an interactive dance party with musical arrangements and deejays. From October 18-31, Pacha Group’s Lío takes over the Mayfair Supper Club with Ibiza’s most exclusive cabaret dining experience. Over at the Excalibur, fans can eat tomato soup and Cornish game hen with their hands during Tournament of Kings. The show six nights a week brings the tale of King Arthur as knights riding horses joust, ladies in waiting dance, and a fire wizard Mordred brings a dash of drama. Fun fact, since 1990, the show purchased 6.7 million game hens. Trumpeter and singer Brian Newman returns to NoMad Library at the Park MGM, adding 12 new dates of his late-night show. The bandleader for Lady Gaga’s jazz and piano show at the resort takes over the stage October 14-17, October 21-24, and October 28-31, all starting at 11:30 p.m., with doors opening at 10:30 p.m. NoMad rolls out a menu of co*cktails, wines, and small bites to keep concert-goers grooving alongside a roster of burlesque performers, singers, and a band. Some of the dates coincide with Lady Gaga performances at the Park Theatre, and in the past, she’s made an appearance. One never knows. Tickets start at $44.95.

Wynn Las Vegas

Last fall, Wynn Las Vegas revamped its Lake of Dreams show. Dine at SW Steakhouse or Lakeside on the patio at either restaurant, or grab a co*cktail at Parasol Down to watch a show with 12 new acts set to a range of songs, complete with rolling emojis, a flying astronaut, a singing frog, a mermaid, and even a shark fin roaming the lake beneath a waterfall. One new act features Lady Birds performing during Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and “Lady Marmalade” from Patti LaBelle. Three 28-feet-tall, 17,000-pound songbirds sing along. Another, dubbed Astronaut, set to a rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Odyssey,” brings a space explorer navigating her way through an interstellar mission during one of the show’s most ambitious sequences that combines all of the theater’s new technology. The fan favorite Singing Frog, a 30-foot singing amphibian and original cast member who was rebuilt with advanced robotics, returns with a dapper new look to sing along with Frank Sinatra in “New York, New York,” complete with a cigarette. The show is free and runs nightly every half hour beginning at dusk.

Wynn’s new supper club Delilah from the H.wood Group with a piano and stage ready to entertain offers servers wearing white jacket tuxedos and flapper dresses, and a band playing on stage set the entertainment vibe of the space designed by Todd-Avery Lenahan, president and chief creative officer of Wynn Design & Development.

Over at the Tuscany, the Rat Pack Is Back now separates its dinner and show, serving the dinner portion of the night at Tuscany Gardens Italian Restaurant after watching impersonators relive the shenanigans of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., complete with a live band, during their heyday at the Copa Room at the Sands Hotel in the 1960s. Downtown, Marriage Can Be Murder pops up at Hennessey’s Tavern with its whodunit format dinner show. Participants choose one of four dinner options — think steak, grilled chicken breast, pasta marinara, or a burger and fries — and then try to figure out who murderer is. The next show arrives on October 22, with additional shows into November at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $74.

The Garden, the gay-friendly restaurant and bar in the Arts District, celebrates drag queens with bottomless (drinks, not the patrons) brunches with the venue’s lineup of queens, including RuPaul’s Drag Race alums Alexis Mateo and Coco Montrese for Pride Week. The show on Saturday, October 9, starts at noon, while Sunday, October 10, goes on at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The $75 per person, the all-inclusive brunch features performances, brunch dishes, and bottomless mimosas. For an additional $45, diners can upgrade to all-you-can-drink featuring a full menu of specialty brunch co*cktails and signature shots.
