Ingredients
US Customary - Metric
- 1/2 cup cream cheese fat-free
- 2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt low-fat
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1/4 cup strawberry preserves no sugar added (I used Polaner All Fruit)
- 1 cup strawberries diced
- 1/3 cup almonds whole
- 4 dates no sugar added
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sugar, yogurt and lemon juice, beat with an electric mixer until smooth and sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Refrigerate until ready to use.
In a small bowl, combine preserves and strawberries.
Add almonds to a food processor and pulse until a crumb consistency, being careful not to turn into flour. Add dates and pulse until combined.
Evenly divide 1/2 almond and date mixture among the dessert dishes. Top with 1/2 cheesecake & yogurt batter, spoon in 1/2 strawberry mixture, add one additional layer of each. Refrigerate 2 -3 hours before serving.
These desserts are perfect for preparing ahead of time and enjoying one a day to satisfy that sweet craving. This mini dessert can be placed in a freezer-safe dish for enjoying at a later date.
Notes
This dessert is low in Saturated Fat and very low in Cholesterol. It is also a very good source of Vitamin C.

Cherish, Instead of coconut sugar, use Sucanat and use raisins in place of dates. However, the dates just add a touch of sweetness and the flavor is not prominent.

Bella, I would recommend a thick honey or maple syrup.

Set aside the health "claim" of coconut palm sugar, will regular table sugar (sucrose) work in this?
Reply
Yes, if that’s your preference.

Should I use plain greek yogurt or will vanilla work for this as well?

Blueberries work great with this, too! And it is delicious!

22 grams of sugar! and what are the additives in the low fat indredients to make that taste better… I opt for regular plain yogurt, absolutely no preserves, shouldn't need the sugar with all the other ingredients… but I guess we are going for a very sweet tooth… if you need more sweet taste and flavour because your used to that then chop and freeze your fruit (anyfruit will do and take in out defrost… I am mortified that low fat products seem to be more important than sugars and artificial flavors which are the leading cause of chronic disease and obesity according to new more recent studies

is cream cheese clean? if not, what could substitute?
Reply
Louann, Light cream cheese can be considered clean. A cleaner substitute would be our Whipped Topping. It's whipped coconut milk: https://skinnyms.com/whipped-topping/. You will not end up with the same dessert, though. The cream cheese makes the dessert taste more like cheese cake. With the whipped topping, you will end up with berries and whipped cream.

I added all of the the ingredients that you have for the recipe and I am not getting the some results for calories, fats, carbs, and proteins. So I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or not but if you could help me I would appreciate it.

We have double-checked the nutritional data, and it appears to be very close to what is listed. Depending on which calculator you are using, there may be small differences in brands.

How would points change if Apple sauce was used in lieu of dates for crust and sugar free jello using only 1/2cup warm water to make and adding the chopped fruit for the jelly replacement?
Reply
Hi Sandra, I just updated this recipe to reflect the new Freestyle Points. Substituting applesauce for the dates would not change the points as both are zero points. I would not recommend using Jello in place of the preserves as they are not the same and should not be substituted.
