Spring Summer 2024 interiors trends: Kitchens
Statement runners
Warm up narrow spaces such as hallways and galley kitchens with a stylish and colourful floor runner. Hard floors can sometimes feel cold and uninspiring and runners are a great way of adding style and personality to an otherwise plain area of your home. Jute designs are bang on trend and runners with tassels or scalloped edges are also a popular choice this spring.
Lovely larders
Our love of the kitchen pantry shows no sign of abating in 2024. Having a separate pantry area is a luxury and we’re not all lucky enough to have room for a walk-in design. However, you can get inventive and create your own larder in the available space by incorporating a tall pantry shelf or a floor-to-ceiling cupboard filled with innovative storage solutions.
Timber kitchens
As we look to more sustainable solutions for our homes in 2024, responsibly sourced wood is not just a desirable material to be used as part of a kitchen build but leaving it in its raw and unfinished form is a design feature that’s set to be big this year. “There is a trend to use rougher timber to create a more rustic look, or exotic woods for a dramatic statement,” says Simon Temprell, interior design lead at Neptune. “Unpainted timber is less susceptible to knocks and scratches and can easily be repaired.”

Spring Summer 2024 interiors trends: Bedrooms
All the frills
Inspired by English heritage design, frills and ruffles pay homage to vintage interiors and have a wonderfully whimsical feel. You can incorporate ruffled edges into your home through your choice of soft furnishings. Frilled cushions have filtered down from designer to the high street and ruffled napkins are a staple for any on-trend tablescape this season.
Eco bedding
Sustainable design is making its way into all areas of our homes, not just kitchens and bathrooms. Opt for environmentally-friendly materials for your bedroom to ensure a warm and comforting space.
Scalloped edges
Curves are here to stay this spring. The need for our homes to feel calm feels more important than ever and using curvature to achieve this is the smart way forward. Scalloped edges have an undeniably romantic feel and work beautifully well in a serene bedroom setting.
Sustainable lighting
Making eco-friendly swaps is an affordable way of minimising the carbon footprint of your home. Lighting is a vital component of every room and should be carefully considered. There are technical changes you can make but also consider what materials your lighting is made from.

Regency revival
Costume dramas such as Bridgerton continue to influence our interiors this spring with eccentric and flamboyant designs inspired by eras gone by encapsulating this distinctive trend. Be bold and daring and choose vintage-inspired wallpaper in vibrant colours and bold patterns to make a real design statement in your home. There’s a continued pull towards sustainability for those wanting to make eco-friendly swaps in 2024, plus playful new ways with tiles, swathes of sumptuous fabrics and bold pastel colour choices just to name a few.
Curved shower screens
Sticking with the curved trend, soft shapes and scalloped edges have become equally popular in bathroom design and curved shower screens are a huge trend. There are lots of screen designs to suit the size and configuration of your bathroom. Brass framed designs will bring an element of luxury to your space, while a matt black screen will add an industrial edge.
Go for green
Are you deliberating on what colour scheme to go for in your new bathroom? Green comes out on top for spring this year. “Green continues to be the colour of the moment in bathroom design, even including the return of the green suite,” explains Richard Fox, senior designer at Ripples Bathrooms. “Mint green adds a playful character to a room and brightens up even the darkest of spaces.
