General Tips and Tricks

  • Get the drop on your enemies while you can – either by hanging from a ledge below them, striking them from above, or even just force-pushing an unsuspecting enemy off a cliff. Ensuring you always get the preemptive strike on an enemy is the best way to start a fight.
  • It’s vital that you always visit a Meditation Point when given the opportunity; not only will this act as a respawn point should you fall to an enemy, but it will also be your only chance to save your progress. So, should your game crash or you decide to turn off your system mid-mission, anything you have done since your last Meditation Point visit will be lost.
  • Resting at a Meditation Point is a double-edged sword, as it will respawn all enemies in the area, forcing you to fight them again. Resting has its perks though, as your health and Stims Canisters will be fully restored.
  • In the Skills menu, you’ll find a "Reset All Skills" button that will refund your skill points and allow you to spend them on different skills of your choosing. While the first skill reset will be free, all times afterward will set you back 1 Skill Point – which, with all things considered, isn’t too big of a loss.
  • If you’re unsure which skill to upgrade, try pressing the “View Ability” button in the Skills menu to receive a brief video overview showcasing the skill in action. This is a great way to understand the attack or move better before spending your hard-earned points on something that may not be suited to your playstyle.
  • When you first start the game, Stim Canisters will always heal half your health bar, so you'll want to prioritize using them only when your health is below half; otherwise, you'll miss out on the Stim Canisters' full healing capabilities. That said, as you progress into the game, Skill Points can be used to upgrade the effectiveness of Stims, so be sure to take this into consideration if you’ve upgraded the Resilience skill tree.
  • Before leaving Koboh, we recommend collecting 10 Datadiscs. This will allow you to purchase an additional Perk slot upgrade from Zee's Datadisc Decryption store on the second floor of Pyloon's Saloon.
  • While you’re there, also check out her other Perks, as her Wisdom Perk will increase all XP gained by defeating enemies, which, in the long run, will add up and make unlocking new skills much easier.
  • If you're struggling with a Force Tear and wish to exit, look for a yellow totem behind the starting position.

  • BD-1 will not be able to Scan anything during a fight. So, if you’re looking to find all Datapoints, be sure to scout environments after a battle to ensure you haven’t missed anything.
  • Clicking the right stick isn't the only way to get onto a Nekko bird. Cal can also get on its back simply by jumping up onto it.
  • If you missed a bunch of new Databank entries while characters were talking, the Databank menu has a Recent list of the last twenty entries that have been added.
  • If a Mount is within view when summoned, they’ll be forced to walk over to you manually. However, should you look at the ground instead, the walking stage can be bypassed entirely, and they’ll instantly spawn next to you – which is a much quicker process.

Combat Tips and Tricks

  • Should you be knocked to the ground during a battle, press the Dodge button to quickly return to your feet, as the longer you take, the more susceptible you’ll be to taking devastating follow-up attacks.
  • Every time you die, you leave behind some of your XP. To get this XP back, you must attack the creature that struck the final blow against you, which will be marked with a yellow aura. Upon hitting the enemy, the XP you dropped will be returned to you, and your life and force meters will be restored to full.
  • We highly recommend using this Life and Force restoration mechanic to your full advantage to help you get through challenging fights. For example, if you took damage on the way back to this enemy, your XP drop can refill that health for you, and if your foe is part of a group, you could focus on other foes before striking the glowing enemy to regain your health mid-fight. Just be extra careful not to die again, or else that XP will be lost forever.
  • This mechanic works a little differently when fighting bosses. Instead of the enemy glowing, a beam of light will be left behind at the spot where you died. This means you can temporarily leave the beam and wait to collect it strategically to refill your health, rather than restoring your health at the start of the fight every time, like in Jedi Fallen Order.
  • You can hold L1 and press Triangle / Y to throw your lightsaber. This technique is especially handy for swiftly taking out Probe Droids before they get too close and explode on you. Just be aware that this uses some of your Force Meter, so you can't do it repeatedly.
  • You may be surprised to know that there is actually a small element of stealth gameplay in Jedi Survivor. If you approach an enemy from behind without being spotted, you can press the attack button when prompted to deal significant damage. It is important to note that sprinting will alert enemies to Cal's presence, so be sure to walk slowly if you wish to employ this tactic.
  • When tossing your Lightsaber, any enemy hit along the way will be damaged, not just the intended target. You’ll definitely want to utilize this technique if you prefer the Double-Bladed stance since it is twice the width of a standard blade.
  • If you're having trouble with a certain fight, try changing the stances that you are using. Sometimes the stat differences for each stance, such as its Range, Defence, Attack, and Speed, can be the deciding factors for winning or losing the fight.
  • You can "pre-load" a Lightsaber Stance in the middle of combat. For example, suppose Cal is finishing off an enemy, but you see a Heavy Assault Trooper requiring a different stance nearby. In this situation, you can activate the other stance during combat, and Cal will automatically switch to that stance once he has finished the attack animation.
  • Blocking too many attacks in a short period can cause Cal's block stamina to run out, leaving him temporarily stunned and vulnerable to incoming attacks.
  • Cal will always have his lightsaber out if combat is afoot, so you know the fight's over when he puts his Lightsaber away automatically. Additionally, if he just twirls them when you try to put them away manually with the D-Pad, there are still enemies around to take down!
  • Shield Troopers can have their shields dragged away using Force Pull. These heavy shields can then be used against them or other enemies by using Force Push. On contact, the shield will leave the enemy temporarily stunned.

  • If you're having trouble reacting to red-heavy attacks, consider going to the Accessibility menu and enabling "Slow Mode" and "Auto-Activate Slow Mode in Combat". Even placing the Slow Dilation setting to approximately 80% can really make the difference!
  • Cal is invulnerable as he is casting his slow-time ability. This means that you can cast it without fear of being interrupted, allowing you to use the time afterward to get your bearings and reset before pressing the attack.

Exploration Tips and Tricks

  • When you spot a Scavenger Droid, be sure to approach it with caution. These little guys will dart off as soon as you get too close, making it tough to take them down and nab their loot. So either get the jump on them by using a lunging attack or use your slow-time ability to stop them in their tracks.
  • If a Scrapper Droid has run away and you've lost it, you can reset its position by Resting at a Meditation Point.
  • Keep an eye out for large brown chests with yellow square lights on the lid. These Collectible Chests will reward a complete set of cosmetics, rather than just one part!
  • As you explore each region, you'll come across shortcuts in the form of loose ropes, zip lines, elevators, and more. These shortcuts allow you to quickly travel to different locations in the area without retracing your initial steps. It is highly recommended that you unlock shortcuts whenever possible, as they'll save you countless hours of backtracking should you die during a battle or if you want to hunt down missing Collectibles. In most situations, shortcuts will be marked in green on the Holomap.
  • Puzzle hints can work in two different ways in Jedi Survivor. First, if the game thinks you’re taking too long to complete the puzzle, you’ll receive a prompt to press Right on the D-Pad to get help. Additionally, you can also ask for a hint at any time by holding Down on the D-Pad for a second or two.
  • Frequently refer to your Holomap, as you'll find that many areas have hidden paths and rooms for you to explore that are easily missed. These hidden areas often lead to Collectibles such as Cosmetic Chests, BD-1 Scans, and Treasures.
  • If there is an area you haven’t fully explored, there are a few key ways to narrow down what you have yet to complete:
    • The first is to look for Yellow Brackets, as these indicate sections that you haven’t yet revealed.
    • The second is Red Objects, which typically lead to new areas, but you haven’t acquired the necessary abilities or means to unlock it just yet.
    • The third is the Percentage Explored' meter, which can be found in the lower-left corner of the Holomap Screen - 100% will mean you have found everything in the area.
    • The fourth and final way is Green Objects, which indicates that the path can be passed, but you have yet to do so.
  • When traveling down longer zip lines, press R2/RT to speed up. Alternatively, if there is an enemy at the other end, you can press L2/LT to slow your speed, making it easy to get the jump on unsuspecting enemies.

  • Light up dark environments by holding the block button, as this will allow Cal to use his Lightsaber as a light source. Fun Fact: the Double-Bladed stance will provide more light than other stances.
  • Should BD-1 jump down to the ground and begin making noise, be sure to investigate, as you'll likely unlock a Databank Scan, Cosmetic, or maybe even a hidden path. Anytime BD-1 becomes vocal; there's usually a good reason to pay attention.
  • When exploring, be sure to keep an eye out for bright yellow chests, as these contain a Stim Canister upgrade. The more Stim Canisters you find, the more you'll be able to carry and refill at Meditation Points.
  • Unfortunately, there’s no way to cheese fall damage, as Cal will either fall far enough to be respawned (some damage will be taken if this feature isn’t turned off in the settings), or he’ll land and take no damage whatsoever. Hugging cliff faces also won’t work, as once the fall height has been calculated, it won’t matter if Cal seemingly made it safely to the ground while sliding down the wall.
  • Many platforming sections require you to use various abilities in mid-air, such as the Ascension Cable, Dashing, and even Force Pulling ropes. Be sure to keep this in mind when you think something might just be out of reach.
  • Stop at all Meditation Points to unlock them as Fast Traveling points. Simply passing by isn't enough, as Cal will need to sit at a Meditation Point in order for it to become a Fast Travel point.
  • BD-1's Visor icon will change to a wifi-like symbol when there is a scan nearby.
  • When riding a Nekko, keep in mind that running will not make you jump any higher. Keep in mind that you will not jump any higher if a Nekko is running. In fact, this will often place you at a disadvantage, as many high ledges are often overhangs that Cal is likely to get stuck on. So, for the best results, simply park the Nekko directly under the ledge and then jump up from there.
